Caregiving

Helping each other in times of special need reminds us that serving in practical ways is an important part of our Christian ministry. By taking part in Caregiving at Epiphany, we can help to meet each other's needs in a variety of ways.
Home Communion Ministers extend the Eucharist beyond the church itself by taking the sacrament to sick or shut-in parishioners. Any adult communicant may be licensed to serve. Special Friends visit our sick and shut-in parishioners, in their homes or in hospitals or nursing homes. Members of the Casserole Brigade provide meals and other kinds of support to parishioners in times of challenge and crisis-a new baby, an illness, a death in the family, as yet another way of showing our love and concern for people in need. Transporters offer rides to church, to the grocery store, and to doctors' appointments. Parishioners who assist with Funeral Receptions put together simple receptions which take place in the Parish Hall. All of us who have experienced crisis know that critical needs may arise unexpectedly. Having a number of parish volunteers available means that we can meet these needs rapidly and efficiently, always remembering that our purpose is to serve. The vestry Chair for Pastoral Care, Kathleen Rinehart, welcomes your involvement.

Founded in 1898, Epiphany is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, The Right Reverend J. Neil Alexander, Bishop.
