Two Hundred Nativity Scenes From Around The World
A Tour Through the Gospels of Matthew & Luke

For the thirtheenth holiday season, The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany presents an exhibit of over 200 nativity scenes from around the world from Saturday, December 1 through Sunday, December 9. Over the years, the exhibit has grown to over 250 creches. From the elegant to the eccentric, the birth scenes are sculpted in materials ranging from carved wood to volcanic ash.

In the church narthex and gallery, there will be a special exhibit of nativity scenes that highlight the differences between the birth story as told in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew.

The two gospels, St. Matthew and St. Luke differ in the way they tell the birth stories. St. Matthew's gospel accentuates the history of the Old Testament people. St. Luke's gospel presents the story by using ordinary people who participate in the unfolding drama.

Each of these nativities is accompanied by scriptural quotes and hymn texts. The rest of the birth scenes will be exhibited in the Parish Hall. The Festival Singers of Atlanta will present a Christmas Program on Friday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. The exhibit will be free to concert goers, donations for the exhibit will be appreciated.

Monday - Thursday, December 1 - 4, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Friday, December 5, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m.
Saturday, December 6, 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 7, 2 - 4 p.m.

Admission: $5.00 for adults; $4.00 for Seniors & Students, Children under 12 free.

Directions:
The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany is located at 2089 Ponce de Leon Avenue at
the corner of Ponce de Leon and East Lake Road, about one mile west of Decatur. The entrance to the parking lot is off of East Lake Road.
