Art Ministry
The Art Ministry is about providing emerging artists a venue to showcase their work through monthly exhibits in our gallery. Over the years, we have exhibited many parishioners work including painting, photography and mixed media, as well as work by many other local artists. God’s bounty of creation is shared through these diverse and changing exhibits that also include art from Emmaus House and Holy Comforter, art related to the church calendar and visual supports for Adult Education programs. In the case of diocesan groups, they benefit by receiving 100% of any sales. By exhibiting their creative work, other artists receive more exposure and opportunity for sales. Our parish benefits by having interesting work that enhances our space and by retaining 25% of any sales.

The work of the ministry includes: finding and scheduling the artists, installing their work in our gallery, introducing the artist through articles in the Star, and accounting of sales.. At the end of each calendar year, annual profits are distributed toward needs (mostly with a visual component) in the parish as determined by the committee and the Rector. In the past Art Ministry profits have gone to Vacation Bible Camp, Outreach, new vestments for our clergy and a wireless microphone system for the church.

Coffee Hour & Summer Breakfast
Regular Coffee Hour during the school year and Summer Breakfasts give us a chance to gather between morning services. Individuals or groups who can serve as hosts/hostesses one or two Sundays a year make these welcoming events possible.

Daughters of the King
Our chapter of Daughters of the King (DOK), an order for laywomen, gathers on the fourth Saturday of each month at Regency House (341 Winn Way, Decatur, GA). Intercessory prayer and service are the heart of the vocation, and while there are no pre-designated areas of service, women of all ages find support here for work within and beyond the parish to further Christ’s Kingdom.

Episcopal Church Women
Episcopal Church Women (ECW) meet on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year. They gather for a program and potluck at 11:00 a.m. and sponsor various fund-raisers to support charitable endeavors.

Men’s Breakfast Group
If you’re a fellow who’s an early riser, perhaps knowing that a Men’s Breakfast Group meets after the Tuesday 7:00 a.m. service will encourage your involvement with this group of great guys.

Newcomers’ Committee
The Newcomers’ Committee welcomes newcomers into our community and assists them in getting “plugged into” activities and ministries by hosting quarterly cookouts and dessert parties. The committee helps the larger parish get acquainted with our newfound companions.

Parish Events

Agápe Supper
This dinner is the beginning of our Maundy Thursday Liturgy. While in the Parish Hall, and around the table, we will hear the gospel story of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet, wash each other’s feet, and celebrate the Eucharist. Then we will move into the church for the stripping of the altar and the reservation of the consecrated bread in preparation for our all-night vigil.

Annual Fling & Silent Auction
Everyone looks forward to the Annual Spring Fling and Silent Auction, which promises fabulous food, an interesting assortment of auction items, and entertainment. Volunteers plan this extravaganza and help solicit auction contributions.

Easter Breakfast
There is a festive Easter Breakfast between services Easter morning, during which the parish children participate in an Easter Egg hunt.

Epiphany Pageant
In January the Epiphany Pageant and Potluck celebrates the coming of the Magi. In addition to the usual help with meal preparation, volunteers are needed for adult “extras” in the pageant and helping costume the children.

Jumble Sale
The Jumble Sale, held once a year to raise money for a youth group pilgrimage, is a parish-wide effort always in need of not just donations, but also sorters, pricers, coordinators and assistants during the sale.

The Nativities Exhibit
The Nativities is a meditative exhibit of 250+ crèches from around the world, accompanied by Scripture commentary and hymn texts. It draws people from all over the greater metropolitan Atlanta area. Volunteers enjoy setting up the exhibit and welcoming visitors from across the state.

Parish Picnic
At the picnic we celebrate our program’s year end May 15. The picnic takes place on the grounds of Epiphany, and we celebrate our Eucharist and honor the work we’ve done over the past year. Join us for a fun day of cooking out, picnicking and celebration.

Parish Retreat
The Parish Weekend Retreat, held each Fall in the mountains, is a convivial, relaxing and beautiful time to enrich the ties of Epiphanites, families and friends. Volunteers help plan and lead events and activities.

Founded in 1898, Epiphany is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, The Right Reverend J. Neil Alexander, Bishop.
The space for our site is provided by ITL America.
