VESTRY

The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

VESTRY PERSON OF THE DAY (VPOD)

VPOD.png

The photo pinned to the bulletin board as you entered today is of our “Vestry Person of the Day” or VPOD. In addition to ensuring that the coffee is brewed, the VPOD also coordinates with nursery staff and the greeters to ensure everyone has what they need to welcome all parishioners and visitors. They are also responsible for securing the church at days end.

Most critically, however, the VPOD is responsible for serving as the point of contact in the event of a medical or other emergency and to coordinate any form of response that may be needed. If you need assistance—or need help getting someone else assistance—notify an usher or the VPOD.
